I'm about to shape my first board and thinking about doing a hull, and was wondering what the bottom contour and rails should be like? I know yours is 7 foot but the I'm gonna do is around 6 foot, do think this will matter much?

6 feet would work great. The displacement hull I made has 50/50 rails going to a hard edge at the tail. Most of the hulls I've seen these days are like that. You can see from the photo that the belly has quite a curve. Towards the tail I fade over to a "V".
So the entire bottom of the board is slightly rounded?
